Tata Sky DTH – Set Top Box |
|
|
A set top box (STB) is a device used to decode digital signals from the satellite to television sets.
Tata Sky uplinks all channels from broadcasters to its satellite (INSAT 4A). The satellite sends these channels in digital format to the dish fixed outside the home. The dish relays the channels to the set top box which decodes the channels and sends them to your television, giving you an unparalleled television viewing experience in DVD quality picture and CD quality sound.
High end set top boxes also support additional functionalities like digital video recorders, remote recording, gaming etc.
Tata Sky provides its subscribers set top boxes of highest quality manufactured by leading companies in their field. Different types of Set Top Boxes available: SD Set Top Boxes, HD Set Top Boxes and Digital Video Recorders. An SD set top box relays channels in standard definition. HD set top box allows you to view high definition TV channels in addition to regular SD channels. Set top boxes which function as Digital Video Recorders (DVR) allow you to pause, record and rewind your favourite TV programs in addition to host of other features. Tata Sky offers HD set top boxes with its Tata Sky HD service and DVRs with Tata Sky+ HD service.
