What is Everywhere TV?
Everywhere TV is service which allows you to watch Live TV, Video On Demand and Catch Up content the following devices:

  1. All iPhones and iPads with iOS version 6.0 & above
  2. Android Phones and Tablets with following minimum requirements
    1. OS version: 4.1.2
    2. Minimum CPU : 1.2 GHz
    3. Minimum RAM : 1 GB
  3. PC with OS Windows XP, Windows 7, 8 and 8.1
  4. Mac computers with OS X Lion 10.7, Mountain Lion 10.8.5, Mavericks 10.9.4 and Yosemite 10.10.

This service can be accessed through the Tata Sky Mobile app available on the App Store, Google Play and our website in case of a PC/ Mac download.


What are the devices Everywhere TV will be available on?
Everywhere TV is available on your Apple, select Android devices, MAC computers and PCs.


How can I access Everywhere TV?
You can access Everywhere TV from the Tata Sky Mobile app. 
This app is available for free on the App store, Google Play and our website in case of a PC/MAC download.


Will I be able to access all the features like Parental control, Plan etc like on my Tata Sky set top box on Everywhere TV?
No. Currently, Everywhere TV service on your device offers Live TV, VOD and Catch Up features only.


I am unable to access Everywhere TV services?
Please ensure the below to enjoy uninterrupted access to Everywhere TV:

  1. You have a device that supports Everywhere TV.
  2. Your device is registered with Tata Sky & Everywhere TV is activated on your device
  3. You are connected to the internet
  4. Please bear in mind that if you are not connected to the internet, you can only enjoy downloaded videos for a maximum of 48 hours.
  5. If you are out of the country, you will be unable to use Live TV, VoD & Tata Sky On Demand streaming services.
  6. You can access Live TV and Tata Sky On Demand videos for only those channels that are part of your subscription package


Why should I activate Everywhere TV? Other apps are already offering this service free of cost?
Many broadcasters are offering live streaming services, some free and some paid. Since those are broadcaster led, they offer only one or two channels per application. None of these apps are comprehensive enough to offer you multiple channels through a single application. Think about how many applications you will need to download to get all the channels you want.  This is something the Tata Sky Everywhere TV offers you. Just download one application and enjoy multiple channels of your choice anytime, anywhere. 

There are also many apps available in the markets of TV channels; however Tata Sky also brings Video on Demand to you on your device in addition to the set top box for a onetime charge.


Can I also access Actve services of Tata Sky on the Everywhere TV section?
2 channels from Actve Music and Actve Javed Akhtar are available. We will try and expand our offering to bring you the best from Tata Sky on your device.


Registration & Activation


How do I register for the Everywhere TV service?
To access Everywhere TV from the Tata Sky Mobile app on your PC, MAC, Android and Apple devices, you need to follow the below steps: 

  1. Download the free Tata Sky Mobile app from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or our website.
  2. Login with your Subscriber ID/ RMN (if not a registered subscriber on mytatasky.com, one can register directly through the app applicable for PC and Mac apps)
  3. Assign a friendly name to register your device. Eg: my iPhone, dad’s galaxy, my pc etc
  4. Tap or click on the Everywhere TV icon in the Tata Sky Mobile App - a message will be displayed asking if you would like Tata Sky to contact you on your RMN.
  5. If you tap or click on yes, one SMS will be sent to you informing you about the charges and the method to activate Everywhere TV.
  6. Second SMS will be sent to you; this SMS needs to be forwarded to the number specified to activate the Everywhere TV pack.
  7. Once the SMS is sent successfully to your RMN; the same will be informed on the app.
  8. You can alternatively call the helpline to activate Everywhere TV on your mobile device OR log on to www.mytatasky.com > Everywhere TV section, select the mobile device you want to activate the Everywhere TV service.
  9. You will now be able to watch Live TV, catch Up & VOD


What is a friendly name?
A friendly name is a unique name that you give to your device while registering the device with Tata Sky. This will help you identify the device you want to activate Everywhere TV service from the devices that you have registered. Eg: my phone, my ipad, my pc etc.


Can I change the friendly name that I give to the device, any time later?
No. Friendly name once given during the registration process cannot be changed later. You will have to delete the device and re-register the friendly name. To delete a device, please call the Tata Sky helpline.


What is the registration fee?
Registration of a device is absolutely free.


How many devices can I register?
You can register as many devices you want with Tata Sky free of charge. However you can activate Everywhere TV on a maximum of 2 devices only per subscriber ID.


Can I activate Everywhere TV on more than 1 device?
Yes. You can activate Everywhere TV on a maximum of 2 registered devices. Each device will need to be activated separately.


Why can I use Everywhere TV service only on 2 devices?
Content providers agreements with Tata Sky stipulate that Tata Sky Live TV channels, Tata Sky On Demand episodes and VoD titles can be allowed on a maximum of two devices per subscriber ID at any given time.


Is there a charge for the Everywhere TV service?
Yes, there is a charge for Everywhere TV. The admin fee can be viewed on our website or you can also call our helpline.


Do I have to pay anything for downloading the Tata Sky Mobile app?
No. The app is available free on App Store, Google Play and our website.


Why should I have to pay a monthly admin fee per device, I am already paying subscription for the live TV channels?
Tata Sky subscription channels include viewing live TV channels on your set-top box only. The Everywhere TV admin fee provides you access to view live TV channels on your device.


Is the admin fee charged on registration of the device or on activation of Everywhere TV?
Registration of your device is absolutely free. On activation of Everywhere TV, you need to pay an admin fee per month/ per device.


Is the admin fee a onetime fee?
No. This is a recurring charge monthly fee.


Why do I need to pay an admin fee for each registered device?
Tata Sky subscription channels include viewing live TV channels on your set-top box only. The Everywhere TV admin fee provides you access to view live TV channels on your device. 

Just like you pay Tata Sky a fee for each set-top box on which you view TV channels, you need to pay Tata Sky for each device on which you access live TV channels.


How is the Admin fee charged to my Tata Sky account?
The admin fee is charged to your Tata Sky account on a per day basis

Do I need to be a Tata Sky+ HD subscriber to access the Everywhere TV service?
To activate Everywhere TV you need to be an active Tata Sky subscriber. You can enjoy the service irrespective of which set-top box (SD/ HD/ +HD) you have.


I am not a Tata Sky subscriber can I still access the service?
No. You need to be an active Tata Sky subscriber to be able to activate Everywhere TV.


My Tata Sky account is currently in de-active state, can I still use Everywhere TV?
You need to be an active Tata Sky subscriber to enjoy live TV channels, Tata Sky On Demand videos or VOD your set-top box and on your device.


I have the Tata Sky Mobile app on my Android phone. Why am I unable to see Everywhere TV icon?
Currently Everywhere TV feature is available only on

  1. All iPhones and iPads with iOS version 6.0 & above
  2. Android Phones and Tablets with following minimum requirements

  2. 1 GB system RAM
  3. DirectX 9 compatible video card with 512 MB DDR2 RAM, 350 MHz GPU clock rate and 0.7 M pixel-per-second fillrate

  5. 250Mb free Hard Disk space

What are the Operating Systems that my MAC computer/Laptop will support?
You can access Everywhere TV from the Tata Sky Mobile app on your MAC computer/Laptop on the following Operating Systems: Mac computers with OS X Lion 10.7, Mountain Lion 10.8.5, Mavericks 10.9.4 and Yosemite 10.10.


I have a jailbroken/rooted device and I have downloaded the Tata Sky Mobile app but I am unable to register my device for Everywhere TV?
Owing to Tata Sky’s security agreement with content providers, Everywhere TV is not supported on jailbroken/ rooted devices.


I have an iOS 5.0 mobile device, can I use the app?
No. Everywhere TV service is accessible only through the Tata Sky Mobile app. This app is available on iOS 6.0 or higher.


I have Samsung S3 with version 4.0, can I use Everywhere TV?
No. Everywhere TV service is accessible only through the Tata Sky Mobile app on the devices and OS versions 4.1.2 and higher.


I have activated Everywhere TV on my device but why do I see a message saying “This Device is not supported”?
Owing to Tata Sky’s security agreement with content providers, Everywhere TV is not supported on jailbroken/ rooted devices or the windows software is not genuine.


Internet related


Do I need internet on my device to access Everywhere TV?
Yes. You need to be connected to the internet during launch, to stream Live TV, Tata Sky On Demand videos and VoD.

If you have a video that has been downloaded on your device from the VOD library then you can watch that video offline without internet as well.


Do I need a good internet connection to enjoy Everywhere TV services?
You only need an internet connection to enjoy Everywhere TV services. However, having a good internet connection with a speed of 1MBPS or higher enables you to enjoy a better quality video while viewing Live TV or streaming videos on VOD / Catch Up.


What type of internet connections can be used to access Everywhere TV service?
The service works on all Internet connections i.e. 4G/3G mobile connections or on broadband/ Wi-Fi internet connections.


Can I run the app on my laptop using an internet dongle / data card?
Yes, but it will require 1mbps bandwidth to stream the videos.


What is the recommended speed to enjoy a good streaming experience on Wi-Fi?
The recommended speed for a good streaming experience on Wi-Fi is 600kbps-1Mbps


I am on 3G connection; however the quality of the video is still poor?
Speeds on mobile internet fluctuate depending on the signal strength, due to which the quality of the video may also suffer.


Why is the video quality different when I am viewing on my Wi-Fi internet connection at home and on my mobile internet connection?
The video quality depends on the speed of your internet connection. You will have a better video quality on a faster internet connection as compared to a slower internet connection.


What are the data charges that I would be charged with while accessing Everywhere TV?
The data charges applicable would be as specified by your internet/mobile service provider. Please check with you internet/mobile service provider for the applicable data charges.

What will happen when I switch between 3G and Wi-Fi while viewing Live TV?
The viewing will not be interrupted and as mobile devices have capability of giving priority to Wi-Fi connection, the app player will switch to higher or lower streaming profile as per the availability of bandwidth on the Wi-Fi.


What will happen if my internet connection/router stops suddenly while viewing Live TV?
The streaming will stop and app will show error stating “please check your internet connection”


What will happen if my internet connection/router stops suddenly while downloading a video?
The app will stop downloading and when the internet connection restored again the download will start happening from the point where the download got suspended.


What is the Bitrate (VOD) option in settings?
The bitrate option allows you to select the quality of video (VOD) that you want to download. This setting is applicable for download option only & should be set before the download starts. The default setting is ‘High’. This means that the video will be downloaded in high quality – which means it may take a longer time to download. You can modify this based on your internet speeds.

The recommended internet speed for a good streaming experience is 1Mbps and above.


What is the minimum speed at which I can stream Live TV/ Tata Sky On Demand?
You need a minimum speed of 300kbps to stream Live TV/Tata Sky On Demand.


I am watching live TV, I moved from a 3G environment to Wi-Fi? Will streaming continue?
The viewing will not be interrupted and as mobile devices have capability of giving priority to Wi-Fi connection, the app player will switch to higher or lower streaming profile as per the availability of bandwidth on the Wi-Fi.


Dropping Everywhere TV


How can I drop or stop Everywhere TV service?

How do I delete/ de-register my mobile device from mytatasky.com?
To delete a registered mobile device you need to call the Tata Sky helpline.


Can I transfer the Everywhere TV service to another device?
No. You cannot transfer the service to another device. You will need to drop the service on the device and activate it on the desired device. Alternatively, you can activate Everywhere TV on the additional device as well.


Live TV


Why are all the channels not available on Live TV?
Tata Sky always keeps expanding its offering of channels on the set top box. In a similar fashion, we will expand and bring more channels on Everywhere TV soon.


I am not able to view certain channels on Live TV on Everywhere TV?
You can only view those channels on Everywhere TV which you have subscribed for viewing on the STB. To enjoy all the channels available on Everywhere TV, you would need to subscribe the respective channels on your STB as well. Go through the genre-wise listing of the channels, to enjoy Everywhere TV.


Why are all channels that are available on Everywhere TV on my iPhone are not available on Everywhere TV on my Laptop?
Currently Ten Action, Ten Sports & Ten Cricket are not available on Everywhere TV on PC and MAC computers which are available on phones and tablets. We are working on expanding the channel line up on PC and we will bring more channels on Everywhere TV soon.


I have subscribed to a channel on the set-top box. Yet when I access this channel on my Everywhere TV activated device I am getting the following message: “This show is only viewable on set top box” message on a channel on Live TV?
The broadcaster does not have the rights to stream this programme on mobile devices. The Live TV service on your device will resume once the next programme starts.


Can I watch the channels as per the channel genres, just like I view on my STB?
Yes. You can view and browse through the channels genre-wise on Everywhere TV.


Is there pause functionality available while watching Live TV?
Yes. You can pause the Live TV streaming for a maximum of 5 minutes on the Everywhere TV service. 
To do this, 
Tap on the video while in full screen mode.

  1. You will see a pause button on the information bar.
  2. Tap on the pause button to pause Live TV for a maximum of 5 minutes.


What will happen if I do not resume after 5 minutes post pausing Live TV on the device?
After 5 minutes of pausing Live TV, the stream will directly start from live again. You will not be able to view the paused video.


Can I rewind shows on Live TV?
No you cannot rewind shows on Live TV. There is only a functionality of pausing live stream for a maximum of 5 minutes.


I was watching Live TV and it stopped streaming, can I resume from the same point if I re-start the app?
Live TV videos will always resume from the current point showing. You will not be able to resume from last viewed point.


Can I change channels while viewing Live TV in full screen mode?
Yes. You need to swipe your fingers up or down across the channel logo shown on the information bar to change channels directly while in Full Screen Mode.


Can I watch Live TV outside India?
No. You need to be in India to be able to watch Live TV on Everywhere TV service.


Why can’t I watch live TV channels outside India? I have paid the Everywhere TV admin fee and have subscribed to the channel on the set-top box?
Tata Sky provides services only within the territory of India.


Can I record Live TV shows using Everywhere TV on my device?
You cannot record shows on your device, you can only pause shows on Everywhere TV service for a maximum of 5 minutes.


Why can’t I see the program guide ahead of the 00:00 hours?
The program guide refreshes everyday at 00:00 hours. The program guide lists the schedule for the current day only.


I am an HD customer. Why can’t I see HD feeds of the Live TV channels on Everywhere TV?
Viewing an HD channel consumes more data vs viewing an SD channel on your device and would also require high internet speeds for viewing an HD channel. Keeping this in mind, we are currently offering only SD channels. Below is a sample profile required for streaming HD channels:

Will I be able to view commercials as a part of the Live TV feed & Tata Sky On Demand episodes on Everywhere TV?
Yes. Tata Sky does not change the channel feed. You will be able to see exactly the same feed on your set-top box and on your device.

Why aren’t any videos being shown on the Purchased section?
To view videos under the Purchased section on your device, order/initiate download VoD from mytatasky.com by selecting VOD tab in the Everywhere TV section first or download a video on your Tata Sky+ HD set top box. Follow the below mentioned steps to do this:

  1. Logon to mytatasky.com
  2. Click on the Everywhere TV tab on the top of the page.
  3. Select VOD tab
  4. Navigate through the catalogue and select the video you would like to download.
  5. Post selection, the download will be initiated on your set top box. The same video will also be shown under the Purchased>Available section on all activated Everywhere TV devices.


I have selected a video for download on mytatasky.com. In how much time will it reflect on the available section of Purchased on the Everywhere TV activated device?
If your Everywhere TV activated device is connected to the internet, then the video will reflect on Purchased > Available almost instantly.


I selected a video to download. Can I cancel this?
You are not charged for a VOD video until the completion of the first download on the set-top box or download/initiate streaming on the device whichever is first. Please delete the video from the VOD download queue on the set-top box & do not initiate download or streaming of the video on your device. If you have already initiated download you may pause the download anytime before completion.


If I have paid for some content for VoD on the Set Top Box, do I have to pay here again?
No. If the video is available for viewing on both the set-top box and device, you pay only once. You can enjoy the same video on your Everywhere TV activated device without paying for it again provided that the content has not expired yet.


I do not have enough money in my account; can I still select a video for download on mytatasky.com?
No. You need to have enough money to cover the price of the video.

I downloaded a video on my set top box, however I am not able to see the video on the PURCHASED section Everywhere TV activated devices?
Some content providers have rights to allow streaming/ download of videos only on the set-top box. You may have selected a video which is available for viewing only on the set top box.


If I have downloaded something on my box, will it show up on my Everywhere TV Purchased section on its own OR do I have to initiate download again from www.mytatasky.com?
Don't worry, if you have downloaded a video on your box it will automatically show up under the Available section inside Purchased on Everywhere TV provided it is available for viewing on your Everywhere TV activated device as well.


Can I download VOD videos on Everywhere TV activated devices?
Yes. To download the video, go the available section of purchased. Then tap on the download button displayed on the poster. You can view this video as many times as you wish during the validity period.


Once I download a video on my device, how long can I watch it?
You can watch a downloaded video on your Everywhere TV activated device till the expiry of that video.


Can I stream/download videos under purchased from outside India?
You cannot stream or download videos under purchased from outside India. To stream/download videos under purchased you need to be in India and connected to the internet while on the Everywhere TV service.


Can I view downloaded videos outside India?
Yes, you can view downloaded videos outside India before the video expires.


Is there a limit to the amount of times I can watch a video in Purchased?
No. You can watch the video as many amount of times as you wish till the video expires.


Is there a time limit to watch a video in Purchased?
Yes. There is an expiry date for every video that you purchase/download. The expiry date for the video is displayed on the information panel of the programme (left hand side of your screen).


When will I be charged for the VoD video?

  1. You will be charged basis the completion of download on the set top box or the Everywhere TV activated device, whichever is first
  2. You will be charged on streaming of the VOD video if streaming of this video is initiated on Everywhere TV activated device before the completion of the first download on your set top box or Everywhere TV activated device


I downloaded a video on my STB which had an expiry of 7 days, however when I downloaded the same video on my device it was available only for 3 days?

  1. Tata Sky charges only once for a video, but allows viewing on all connected set-top boxes and Everywhere TV activated devices.
  2. The expiry date of the video is based on the completion first download of the video is completed. The same expiry date is applicable across all connected set-top boxes and Everywhere TV activated devices.


For example,
Video downloaded on STB = 00:00 hrs on 1st of June 2013
Expiry of video on STB = 23:59 hrs on 7th of June 2013
Video downloaded on device = 00:00 hrs on 3rd of June 2013
Expiry of video on device = 23:59 hrs on 7th of June 2013
However, if you choose to stream the video to your Everywhere TV activated device before the completion of the first download, you will be charged on the start of streaming. The expiry date will be calculated basis the date of the first instance of streaming the video.


Can I view downloaded videos even if I am not connected to the internet?
Yes. You can view downloaded videos even if you are not connected to the internet for a maximum of 48 hours or till the expiry date, whichever is the first. If the video has still not expired but you are unable to view, please connect the device to the internet for a couple of minutes and go to the Everywhere TV section of the Tata Sky Mobile app. 

Post this you will be to watch the video again for a period of 48 hours without being connected to the internet. 

Example of restriction of access,

  1. Video downloaded on Everywhere TV activated device = 00:00 hrs on 1st of June 2013
  2. Expiry of video on Everywhere TV activated device = 23:59 hrs on 7th of June 2013
  3. Everywhere TV activated device goes offline = 00:00 hrs on 3rd of June 2013
  4. Restriction of Access to Everywhere TV if device has not connected again = 23:59 hrs on 4th of June 2013

Example of ability to access video because expiry is within restriction of access,

  1. Video downloaded on Everywhere TV activated device = 00:00 hrs on 1st of June 2013
  2. Expiry of video on Everywhere TV activated device = 23:59 hrs on 7th of June 2013
  3. Everywhere TV activated device goes offline = 00:00 hrs on 7th of June 2013
  4. Ability to access Video on Everywhere TV activated device (because 48 hours have not yet been completed since device went offline) = 23:59 hrs on 7th June 2013


Will I be charged again for downloading a video I already downloaded on my Tata Sky+ HD set top box?
No. You pay just once and enjoy the same video on all Tata Sky+ HD set top boxes and Everywhere TV activated devices.


When I download a video, is it using the memory space on my device?
Yes. Everywhere TV service uses your device memory to store a video downloaded under VOD.
The below table shows the approximate amount of memory space used upon downloading a video.

Can I fast forward, pause or rewind videos?
Yes. You can fast forward, pause or rewind videos under purchased. Just tap on the screen while viewing the video in full screen mode and drag the blue dot on the progress bar to the position you wish to start viewing the video from.


The Tata Sky Mobile app crashed/ hung while I was downloading a video? Do I need to start download of the video all over again?
If the app stopped working while downloading a video, the download will resume from the same position when you re-start the app.


Upon closing/minimizing the Tata Sky Mobile app, does the video keep on downloading in the background?
No. The application should be open for the download to be completed.


I had a video downloaded; it seems to have disappeared from the downloaded & available list on the Everywhere TV activated device?
Every video has an expiry date associated with it. If the video has crossed its expiry date then the video gets deleted automatically.


On expiry, does a video get deleted by itself or do I have to delete it?
On expiry, the video will get deleted on its own from your device.


My phone was off when I ordered a video from mytatasky.com; will I still get the notification on my phone when I turn it on?
The notification may or may not appear based on how long your phone was switched off. However, the video will be available on your Everywhere TV activated device under purchased>available section.

What is Tata Sky On Demand?
With Tata Sky On Demand you can watch the last 5 days episodes of some of your favourite shows. You can stream available episodes on your Everywhere TV activated service.


I am not able to view videos for certain channels?
You can only view episodes for channels that are part of your subscription pack.


Can I download videos on Tata Sky On Demand?
No. You can only stream Tata Sky On Demand episodes.


Can I stream Tata Sky On Demand videos outside India? I have paid the Everywhere TV admin fee and have subscribed to the channel on the set-top box?
Tata Sky provides services only within the territory of India.


Can I fast forward, pause or rewind videos?
Yes. You can fast forward, pause or rewind Tata Sky On Demand episodes. Just tap on the screen while viewing the video in full screen mode. Then drag the blue dot on the progress bar to the position you wish to start viewing the video from.

My Tata Sky section in the app gives you information about your Tata Sky account e.g. Account details, current packs, Transaction History

What if I do not remember the password for my subscriber id?
You can tap on forgot password to generate a new password.


Can I edit the account information through My Tata Sky section?
No, currently editing of details is not possible through My Tata Sky section.


Why can’t I get all functionality as in mytatasky.com

I have downloaded a VOD title on my Everywhere TV activated device. Can I connect the device to my TV and view the video on full screen?
Everywhere TV does not support output via HDMI/TV out, so it's not possible to view Everywhere TV content on your TV.


Can I watch Live TV or stream videos via 3G/Wi-Fi whilst a download is in progress?
Yes, although the quality of the Live TV or streaming of video will depend on the amount of 3G/Wi-Fi bandwidth available.


What is the size of the Tata Sky Mobile app?
iPhone app is 11.7 MB, iPad app is 16.6 MB, Android phone app is 22.5 MB, Android Tab app is 25.1MB, the PC app is 39 MB and the MAC app is 141 MB

To see the list of registered devices, go to the Everywhere TV section once you log in to mytatasky.com


How do I activate the Everywhere TV on mytatasky.com?
To activate Everywhere TV on your registered device:

  1. Login to mytatasky.com
  2. Click on the Everywhere TV tab
  3. You will see a list of devices that you have registered with Tata Sky
  4. Select the device & click on Activate Everywhere TV
  5. Now you can enjoy Everywhere TV on your device.


How do I purchase VoD from mytatasky.com for my Everywhere TV activated device?

  1. Login to mytatasky.com
  2. Click on the VOD tab
  3. Choose the video that you wish to view on your device
  4. Click on “Download and Buy” button to make it available on your Everywhere TV activated device
  5. This video will now be listed on your Everywhere TV activated device under VOD> available section


When you select a video for download on mytatasky.com the video is also added to the download queue on your connected Tata Sky+ HD box.


Can I delete a registered device from the mytatasky.com?
You cannot delete devices directly from mytatasky.com, you need to call the Tata Sky helpline to delete a mobile device or drop Everywhere TV.
