  1. On tap of Everywhere TV icon within the Tata Sky Mobile App, a message is displayed asking if you would like Tata Sky to contact you on your RMN.
  2. If you tap on yes one SMS will be sent to you informing you about the charges and method to activate Everywhere TV.
  3. Second SMS will be sent to you; this SMS needs to be forward to the number specified to activate the Everywhere TV pack.
  4. Once the SMS is sent successfully to your RMN; the same will be informed on the app.
  5. You can alternatively call the helpline to activate Everywhere TV on your mobile device OR log on to www.mytatasky.com > Everywhere TV section, select the mobile device you want to activate the Everywhere TV service

  2. On activating Everywhere TV, you will not be charged anything for the FIRST month post that the regular charge of Rs 60 per month/ per mobile device will be charged to your account

Access entertainemnt on the go



Now you can access Live TV, Catch Up TV and hundreds of VoD titles on Everywhere TV activated devices.

Live TV: Enjoy 60+ live channels. You can stream channels that are a part of your Tata Sky subscription package.

Catch Up TV: Stream TV shows that are on channels you are subscribed to.

Video on Demand: Order once and enjoy VoD titles on all connected Tata Sky+ HD boxes and Everywhere TV activated devices. To order, select any title of your choice from the VoD catalogue on mytatasky.com. This title will now reflect under the available section of VoD within Everywhere TV on the Tata Sky Mobile app. The title will also be added to the download queue of your Tata Sky+ HD connected box.

Remote Record

You can set recordings for your shows on the Tata Sky+ HD box from the Program Guide section of the app.
However, this section has been designed to improve your experience setting shows for recording via the app.



Select an event of your choice and tap on the red button next to record the program. That’s it!
You can also get more information about the program by tapping on the ‘more info option’.

You can also record the programs by tapping on Record Show present on the more info screen, which is displayed when a program is selected on the Program Guide.



Program Guide

The program guide displays programs for the next 4 days. They are listed under various genres.

Tap on any program name to view synopsis, share with friends, read Twitter feeds about the program and set the show for recording or even set reminders.

You can also select the ‘favourites’ option to create & view listings of your preferred channels. You can add/remove them whenever you want
.

Wi-Fi Remote

Connect your Tata Sky+ HD set top box and mobile phone to the home Wi-Fi network, and transform your phone into a remote!

Full Remote

Full Remote is a complete replica of your physical remote on the Tata Sky Mobile app.

The volume and channel buttons are located at the left and right side of the screen. You need to tap your fingers up and down on the horizontal bar to change the same.

The keypad is in the center of the screen, which lets you to enter the channel number directly. A direction pad with the ‘select’ key is also located at the center which allows you to glance through the program guide on the TV like the physical remote and then allows you to select the preferred channel.

Dedicated buttons are located at the bottom that helps you to access sections like -

Alongside, there are the four special buttons in different colours, which are similar to the physical remote (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue).

Gesture Remote

You can initiate the Gesture Remote from any section on the application just by tapping 2 fingers anywhere on the screen or by accessing it directly from the Wi-Fi Remote section.

The Gesture Remote allows you to change channels, increase/decrease the volume, pause and play your live feed with just a swipe of a finger.

All you need to do is swipe up or down to change channels or swipe left or right to change the volume.

To pause live TV, just tap on the Pause button in the middle and the pause functionality will be activated, and the button changes to ‘Play’. To start viewing it again you can tap on the Play button.

Quick Remote

Using Quick Remote you can access all the popular channels with a single tap.

All you have to do is tap on the channel you wish to watch from the list that appears on the screen.

Set-top box settings

Ensure that your set-top box is connected to the home Wi-Fi network. Call our helpline for more information if you need help setting up the connection.

Press organiser on your Tata Sky+ HD remote. Then go to system settings > home network setup

Set “Enable Home Network” option to “Yes”.

Give your set-top box a friendly name so that it is easy to discover through the Tata Sky Mobile app.

Go to settings on the app.

Select “Select STB” option.

A list of all connected Tata Sky+ HD boxes will be displayed.

Select the Tata Sky+ HD box you wish to control.

Share what you’re watching

Go to Settings and enter your Facebook/ Twitter login details. Ensure ‘Social Watching’ is set to ‘ON’.
When you select Who's Watching, you will be able to view the name of the programs your friends are watching.
To share the program name on Facebook/ Twitter, tap the program you are watching in the program listings and select ‘share’.

Sharing on FB & Twitter



How do I share what I am watching on FB / Twitter?
  1. Go to settings section on the app
  2. Enter your facebook login and password details. This is a onetime process
  3. In settings, ensure "Social Watching" is set to "ON". This is a onetime process
  4. When you select a programme for viewing, if the settings above are done correctly, your friends who are also using the Tata Sky Mobile access app will be able to view the name of the programme you are watching
  5. If you would like to post what the name of the programme you are watching on your Facebook wall, and then ensure the above settings are completed, then tap the programme you are watching in the programme listings and select “share".
How do I see the Tweets for a movie
  1. Tap on the movie name in the guide/remote record section
  2. Select the tBuzz tab on the more info screen; you will be able to read tweets with the selected key word
How do I tweet from the app

Select ‘Reviews’ to read extended information like cast, crew, actor, story, reviews for the movie on sites like IMDB and Wikipedia

How do I assign my favourite channels?
  1. On ipad,
    1. go to programme guide & click on favourites
    2. Click on manage favourites to add & remove channels

Remote Record



How do I set a programme for remote recording?
  1. In the programme guide select any programme to open the more info screen
    1. Tap on ‘Record Show’ on the screen to Record the programme.
    2. Enter your Subscriber id when prompted (one time activity)
  2. Go to Remote Record section
    1. Press the record (red) button near the programme name. Enter your Subscriber id when prompted (one time activity). You will get a notification confirming that the programme has been successfully set for recording. This notification is displayed for few seconds only
    2. If you are attempting to remote record for the first time, you will be asked to enter your subscriber ID. This is a onetime entry only. Once you enter this you will not need to do it again when you are setting remote recordings in the future.
    3. Remote recording functionality can be used by Tata Sky+ HD subscribers only. Any other subscriber that tries to record will get a failure message.

Reminders



How do I set a reminder for a programme?
  1. Reminders can be set for future programmes only
  2. To set a reminder for a programme, tap on the programme name. You will be able to see the set reminder button. Press the button to set a reminder. The reminder will be set on your device. The reminder alarm on your device will start when it’s time for the programme
  3. To view/ edit the reminder, go to the calendar of your device

What is the who’s watching section on programme guide?
This section lists the programme names that your Facebook Friends are watching

What is the search function? What all can I search for?
To search go the programme guide section and select the magnifying glass at the bottom of the screen

If the programme is currently on click on programme name to tune to the channel; this is applicable only if the you have connected your set-top box with the Wi-Fi router and the mobile app has also been connected with the set-top box through settings section.

If the programme is in the future,

  1. On Phone:
    click on the arrow on the right hand of the programme name to set the programme for recording / read programme info
  2. On Tablet:
    Click on the options next to the programme name to record, set reminder or access more info.

Subscriber ID: this saves your Tata Sky subscriber ID. This feature is for Tata Sky+ and Tata Sky+ HD customers to set their favourite shows for recording

Select STB: allows you to select which Tata Sky+ HD box in your house you would like to control

Version: Shows the version number of the app

Friendly Name: Shows the friendly name given to the device.

  3. The login ID/password details you are using are correct. In case you have changed your password, you will be asked to re-enter it when you open the Everywhere TV module
  4. You are connected to the internet
  5. Please bear in mind that if you are not connected to the internet, you can only enjoy downloaded videos for a maximum of 48 hours.
  6. If you are out of the country, you will be unable to use Live TV, VoD & catch Up TV streaming services.
  7. You can access live TV and catch Up TV for only those channels that are part of your subscription package
Why should I activate Everywhere TV? Other apps are already offering this service free of cost?

Many broadcasters are offering live streaming services, some free and some paid. Since these are broadcaster led they offer only one or two channels per application. None of these apps are comprehensive enough to offer you multiple channels through a single application. Think about how many applications you will need to download to get all the channels you want.  This is something the Tata Sky Everywhere TV offers you. Just download one application and enjoy multiple channels of your choice anytime, anywhere.

There are also many apps available in the markets of TV channels; however Tata Sky also brings Video on Demand to you on your device in addition to the set top box for a onetime charge.

You can register on mytatasky.com via the Tata Sky Mobile app:

  1. Click on the Everywhere TV icon on the home screen of the Tata Sky Mobile app(only on Android).
  2. On the login screen shown, click on New User
  3. On the Register screen shown, enter your Subscriber ID, Password, Confirm Password, Email ID and Registered Mobile Number (RMN) and submit.
  4. You will receive a verification mail on your specified email account. Follow the steps in the mail to verify your account.
  5. You are now a registered user on mytatasky.com. You can proceed to activate Everywhere TV service
What is a friendly name?

A friendly name is a unique name that you give to your device while registering the device with Tata Sky. This will help you identify the device you want to activate Everywhere TV service from the devices that you have registered. Eg: my phone, my ipad etc

Can I change the friendly name that I give to the device, any time later?

No. Friendly name once given during the registration process cannot be changed later. You will have to delete the device and re-register the friendly name. To delete a device, please call the Tata Sky helpline.

What is the registration fee?

Registration of a device is absolutely free. Only on activation of Everywhere TV you will not be charged anything for the first month post which you need to pay Rs 60 per month/ per device.
Annual pack Rs. 600 and Semi Annual pack Rs. 325 per device is also available.

How many mobile devices can I register?

You can register as many mobile devices you want with Tata Sky free of charge. However you can activate Everywhere TV on a maximum of 2 mobile device s only per subscriber ID.

Can I activate Everywhere TV on more than 1 mobile device?

Yes. You can activate Everywhere TV on a maximum of 2 registered mobile devices. Each mobile device will need to be activated separately.

Why can I use Everywhere TV service only on 2 mobile device s?

Content providers agreements with Tata Sky stipulate that Tata Sky Live TV channels, Catch Up TV episodes and VoD titles can be allowed on a maximum of two mobile devices per subscriber ID at any given time.

Is there a charge for the Everywhere TV service?

Yes. On activation of Everywhere TV, you will not be charged anything for the first month post which you need to pay Rs 60 per month/ per device.
Annual pack Rs. 600 and Semi Annual pack Rs. 325 per device is also available.

Do I have to pay anything for downloading the Tata Sky Mobile app?

Is the admin fee a onetime fee?

No. This is a recurring charge monthly fee.

Why do I need to pay an admin fee for each registered device? Why can’t I pay Rs 60 and enjoy the service on both devices?

Tata Sky subscription channels include viewing live TV channels on your set-top box only. The Everywhere TV admin fee provides you access to view live TV channels on your mobile device.

Just like you pay Tata Sky a fee for each set-top box on which you view TV channels, you need to pay Tata Sky for each device on which you access live TV channels.

How is the Admin fee charged to my Tata Sky account?

The admin fee is charged to your Tata Sky account on a per day basis

Do I need to be a Tata Sky+ HD subscriber to access the Everywhere TV service?

To activate Everywhere TV you need to be an active Tata Sky subscriber. You can enjoy the service irrespective of which set-top box (SD/ HD/ +HD) you have.

I am not a Tata Sky subscriber can I still access the service?

No. You need to be an active Tata Sky subscriber to be able to activate Everywhere TV.

My Tata Sky account is currently in de-active state, can I still use Everywhere TV?

You need to be an active Tata Sky subscriber to enjoy live TV channels, catch Up TV or VOD your set-top box and on your mobile device.

You only need an internet connection to enjoy Everywhere TV services. However, having a good internet connection with a speed of 1MBPS or higher enables you to enjoy a better quality video while viewing Live TV or streaming videos on VOD / Catch Up.

What type of internet connections can be used to access everywhere TV service?

The video quality depends on the speed of your internet connection. You will have a better video quality on a faster internet connection as compared to a slower internet connection.

The viewing will not be interrupted and as mobile devices have capability of giving priority to Wi-Fi connection, the app player will switch to higher or lower streaming profile as per the availability of bandwidth on the Wi-Fi.

What will happen if my internet connection/router stops suddenly while viewing Live TV?

The streaming will stop and app will show error stating “please check your internet connection”

What will happen if my internet connection/router stops suddenly while downloading a video?

The app will stop downloading and when the internet connection restored again the download will start happening from the point where the download got suspended.

What is the Bitrate (VOD) option in settings?

The bitrate option allows you to select the quality of video(VOD) that you want to download. This setting is applicable for download option only & should be set before the download starts. The default setting is ‘High’. This means that the video will be downloaded in high quality – which means it may take a longer time to download. You can modify this based on your internet speeds.

Why are all the channels not available on Live TV?

Tata Sky always keeps expanding its offering of channels on the set top box. In a similar fashion, we will expand and bring more channels on Everywhere TV soon.

I am not able to view certain channels on Live TV on Everywhere TV?

You can only view those channels on Everywhere TV which you have subscribed for viewing on the STB. To enjoy all the channels available on Everywhere TV, you would need to subscribe the respective channels on your STB as well.

I have subscribed to a channel on the set-top box. Yet when I access this channel on my Everywhere TV activated device I am getting the following message: “This show is only viewable on set top box” message on a channel on Live TV?

The broadcaster does not have the rights to stream this programme on mobile devices. The Live TV service on your mobile device will resume once the next programme starts.

Is there pause functionality available while watching Live TV?

Yes. You can pause the Live TV streaming for a maximum of 5 minutes on the Everywhere TV service.
To do this,

  1. Tap on the video while in full screen mode.
  2. You will see a pause button on the information bar.
  3. Tap on the pause button to pause Live TV for a maximum of 5 minutes.

What will happen if I do not resume after 5 minutes post pausing Live TV on the mobile device?

After 5 minutes of pausing Live TV, the stream will directly start from live again. You will not be able to view the paused video.

Can I rewind shows on Live TV?

No you cannot rewind shows on Live TV. There is only a functionality of pausing live stream for a maximum of 5 minutes.

I was watching Live TV and it stopped streaming, can I resume from the same point if I re-start the app?

Live TV videos will always resume from the current point showing on live TV. You will not be able to resume from last viewed point.

Can I change channels while viewing Live TV in full screen mode?

Yes. You need to swipe your fingers up or down across the channel logo shown on the information bar to change channels directly while in Full Screen Mode.

Can I watch Live TV outside India?

No. You need to be in India to be able to watch Live TV on Everywhere TV service.

Why can’t I watch live TV channels outside India? I have paid the Everywhere TV admin fee and have subscribed to the channel on the set-top box?

Tata Sky provides services only within the territory of India.

Can I record Live TV shows using Everywhere TV on my mobile device?

You cannot record shows on your mobile device, you can only pause shows on Everywhere TV service for a maximum of 5 minutes.

Why can’t I see the program guide ahead of the 00:00 hours?

The program guide refreshes everyday at 00:00 hours. The program guide lists the schedule for the current day only.

I am an HD customer. Why can’t I see HD feeds of the Live TV channels on Everywhere TV?

Viewing an HD channel consumes more data vs viewing an SD channel on your device and would also require high internet speeds for viewing an HD channel. Keeping this in mind, we are currently offering only SD channels on launch. Below is a sample profile required for streaming HD channels:

Why aren’t any videos being shown on the VOD section?

To view videos under the VOD section on your mobile device, order/initiate download VoD from mytatasky.com by selecting VOD tab in the Everywhere TV section first or download a video on your Tata Sky+ HD set top box. Follow the below mentioned steps to do this:

  1. Logon to mytatasky.com
  2. Click on the Everywhere TV tab on the top of the page.
  3. Select VOD tab
  4. Navigate through the catalogue and select the video you would like to download.
  5. Post selection, the download will be initiated on your set top box. The same video will also be shown under the VOD>Available section on all activated Everywhere TV devices.

I have selected a video for download on mytatasky.com. In how much time will it reflect on the available section of VoD on the Everywhere TV activated device?

If your Everywhere TV activated device is connected to the internet, then the video will reflect on VoD > Available almost instantly.

I selected a video to download. Can I cancel this?

You are not charged for a VOD video until the completion of the first download on the set-top box or download/initiate streaming on the device whichever is first. Please delete the video from the VOD download queue on the set-top box & do not initiate download or streaming of the video on your device. If you have already initiated download you may pause the download anytime before completion.

If I have paid for some content for VoD on the Set Top Box, do I have to pay here again?

No. If the video is available for viewing on both the set-top box and device, you pay only once. You can enjoy the same video on your Everywhere TV activated device without paying for it again provided that the content has not expired yet.

I do not have enough money in my account; can I still select a video for download on mytatasky.com?

No. You need to have enough money to cover the price of the video.

I downloaded a video on my set top box, however I am not able to see the video on the VOD section Everywhere TV activated devices?

Some content providers have rights to allow streaming/ download of videos only on the set-top box. You may have selected a video which is available for viewing only on the set top box.

If I have downloaded something on my box, will it show up on my Everywhere TV VoD section on its own OR do I have to initiate download again from www.mytatasky.com?

Don't worry, if you have downloaded a video on your box it will automatically show up under the Available section inside VOD on Everywhere TV provided it is available for viewing on your Everywhere TV activated device as well.

Can I download VOD videos on Everywhere TV activated devices?

Yes. To download the video, go the available section of VOD. Then tap on the download button displayed on the poster. You can view this video as many times as you wish during the validity period.

Once I download a video on mobile, how long can I watch it?

You can watch a downloaded video on your Everywhere TV activated device till the expiry of that video.

Can I stream/download videos under VOD from outside India?

You cannot stream or download videos under VOD from outside India. To stream/download videos under VOD you need to be in India and connected to the internet while on the Everywhere TV service.

Why can’t I download videos from the Available section of VoD on an Everywhere TV activated device? I am currently out of the country.

Tata Sky provides services only within the territory of India. In sync with the DTH offering Tata Sky offer Everywhere TV services also within the country.

Can I view downloaded videos outside India?

Yes, you can view downloaded videos outside India before the video expires.

Is there a limit to the amount of times I can watch a video on VOD?

No. You can watch the video as many amount of times as you wish till the video expires.

Is there a time limit to watch a video on VOD?

Yes. There is an expiry date for every video that you purchase/download. The expiry date for the video is displayed on the information panel of the programme (left hand side of your screen).

When will I be charged for the VoD video?

  1. You will be charged basis the completion of download on the set top box or the Everywhere TV activated device, whichever is first
  2. You will be charged on streaming of the VOD video if streaming of this video is initiated on Everywhere TV activated device before the completion of the first download on your set top box or Everywhere TV activated device

What if I accidentally deleted a Video on VOD before the expiry? Would I be charged again for downloading it?

Don't worry; the video will still be available under the Available section on VOD. You can download the video again for free within the expiry date.

I downloaded a video on my STB which had an expiry of 7 days, however when I downloaded the same video on my mobile device it was available only for 3 days?

  1. Tata Sky charges only once for a video, but allows viewing on all connected set-top boxes and Everywhere TV activated devices.
  2. The expiry date of the video is based on the completion first download of the video is completed. The same expiry date is applicable across all connected set-top boxes and Everywhere TV activated devices.

For example,
Video downloaded on STB = 00:00 hrs on 1st of June 2013
Expiry of video on STB = 23:59 hrs on 7th of June 2013
Video downloaded on mobile device = 00:00 hrs on 3rd of June 2013
Expiry of video on mobile device = 23:59 hrs on 7th of June 2013

However, if you choose to stream the video to your Everywhere TV activated device before the completion of the first download, you will be charged on the start of streaming. The expiry date will be calculated basis the date of the first instance of streaming the video.

Can I view downloaded videos even if I am not connected to the internet?

Yes. You can view downloaded videos even if you are not connected to the internet for a maximum of 48 hours or till the expiry date, whichever is the first. If the video has still not expired but you are unable to view, please connect the device to the internet for a couple of minutes and go to the everywhere TV section of the mobile app.

Post this you will be to watch the video again for a period of 48 hours without being connected to the internet.

  1. Video downloaded on Everywhere TV activated device = 00:00 hrs on 1st of June 2013
  2. Expiry of video on Everywhere TV activated device = 23:59 hrs on 7th of June 2013

When I download a video, is it using the memory space on my phone?

Yes. Everywhere TV service uses your phone’s memory to store a video downloaded under VOD.

The Tata Sky Mobile app crashed/ hung while I was downloading a video? Do I need to start download of the video all over again?

If the app stopped working while downloading a video, the download will resume from the same position when you re-start the app.

Upon closing/minimizing the Tata Sky Mobile app, does the video keep on downloading in the background?

No. The application should be open for the download to be completed.

I had a video downloaded; it seems to have disappeared from the downloaded & available list on the Everywhere TV activated device?

Every video has an expiry date associated with it. If the video has crossed its expiry date then the video gets deleted automatically.

On expiry, does a video get deleted by itself or do I have to delete it?

On expiry, the video will get deleted on its own from your device.

What happens when a video expires while download is in progress?

The video is auto deleted from the downloading list.

My phone was off when I ordered a video from mytatasky.com; will I still get the notification on my phone when I turn it on?

The notification may or may not appear based on how long your phone was switched off. However, the video will be available on your Everywhere TV activated device under VOD>available section.

Can I simultaneously download and stream a VoD video on my Everywhere TV activated device?

No. At any given time, you can either stream or download the same video.

What is Catch Up TV?

With Catch Up TV you can watch the last 5 days episodes of some of your favourite shows. You can stream available episodes on your Everywhere TV activated service.

  1. Login to mytatasky.com
  2. Click on the VOD tab
  3. Choose the video that you wish to view on your mobile device
  4. Click on “Download and Buy” button to make it available on your Everywhere TV activated device
  5. This video will now be listed on your Everywhere TV activated device under VOD> available section

When you select a video for download on mytatasky.com the video is also added to the download queue on your connected Tata Sky+ HD box.

Can I delete a registered mobile device from the mytatasky.com?

You cannot delete mobile device s directly from mytatasky.com, you need to call the Tata Sky helpline to delete a mobile device or drop Everywhere TV.
