Tata Sky pays Rs 2200 Cr as taxes including Rs. 561 Cr License fee in 2017-18

Mumbai: Tata Sky, India's leading content distribution platform, today paid Rs. 561 Cr as license fee @ 10% of revenue, for 2017-18, the highest ever payment made by a private operator to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. 

Including the license fee, Tata Sky would have paid in excess of Rs. 2200 Cr as taxes & levies, to the government, in the year gone by.

“With the payment made today, we have paid License Fee, past & current, as per specified rates, regardless of pending litigations between the government & the platforms”, said Harit Nagpal, MD & CEO of Tata Sky.
